Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries NSE 1.43 percent (RIL), and Gautam Adani, founder of the Adani Group, have surpassed Chinese billionaires and tech tycoons like Jack Ma and Zhong Shanshan in world wealth rankings, making them Asia's wealthiest businesspeople.
Ambani's fortune has risen to almost $84 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, making him the world's 12th richest person. So far in 2021, Ambani has invested $7.62 billion.
